Reagan had her party face on for the big birthday bash. She even wore a party hat! hehehehehe I think she was hoping for some cake but we had to tell her she was too little!

Happy "First" Birthday Breleigh

Breleigh and Mommy at Happy Joe's on the eve of her actual birthday! A rare shot as I am the one who is usually behind the lens.
Papa and Breleigh getting ready for dinner at Happy Joe's. We crossed the bridge into Iowa to eat at our favorite Happy Joe's which meant a long trip home. The I 80 bridge is only open into Iowa and closed into Illinois. It was worth it though....that place feels like home to me!
We made a "Very Hungry Caterpillar" cake for the birthday girl! My mom had this great cupcake book and I fell in love with this one. It was so fun to make. The frosting was a little drippy but we decided that the caterpillar just had a beard!
Helaina tried on her dance costume for everyone this past weekend and Grayson kind of liked the look of her tap shoes. So....after Helaina stripped off her costume Grayson got his chance to wear those beloved shoes. Of course his typical boy socks were too thick for the tap shoe so he had to wear something thinner. He was kind of eye balling the socks for the dance costume so we went with it. Being the supportive Aunt that I am I offered to let him try on the entire costume but he declined. ( I think his father was happy about that) :)

Caught in Time

Our new horse for the swing set. I really thought that Helaina would be afraid of it and that it would take a very long time for her to climb on. Ummmm..... I was wrong. I should be getting used to this by now! I even grabbed a "hand me down" cowboy hat for her to wear just for the pics and she agreed. She named it Montana. I thought it looked like fun too so I sat on it... it hurt my butt!

Fun in the Sun

It is so nice to have sunny and warm days! Taking the girls outside is a pleasure. I find it hard to get my inside work done but when I look back at these pics and know that we took advantage of this beautiful day it makes my inside work less important.

I love my baby!

Breleigh has really taken to one of Helaina's dolls! I am hopeful that this is a good sign. Helaina likes to play dolly with stuffed animals instead of the real deal. Maybe Breleigh will like dolls more? She is off to a good start. Of course, sharing Helaina's doll is not the best case scenario but maybe a little visit from the Easter bunny will fix this little problem.
