The Purple Polka Dot Princess

A "Trendy" Little Red Riding Hood

Here are my girls and they are all dressed and ready for Halloween. Aren't they cute? We took advantage of some of the nicest Fall days to get some good pics. Who knows what the weather will be like on Halloween. It has been both stinking hot and pretty darn chilly in Halloweens of the past. So our weekend trip to VanderVeer Park worked just perfect!!! YEAH!!!
It has been really fun making these costumes. The first time that Helaina tried her costume on she had the best smile on her face and she said she "loved it!" That just made it all worth it! I am so happy that with my mediocre sewing skills I can produce things that really make kids happy. Can't wait to wear them for the real thing. Helaina is very anxious to do the trick or treating because she knows the end result is candy. She does however always remember to say "thank you" at the end of her trick or treating scenario.
Breleigh has just recently been adding to her vocabulary by leaps and bounds. She can say pumpkin very clearly. I think maybe even a stranger could understand her. ;) Just today on the monitor I heard "mommy" being yelled and I thought it was Helaina but indeed it was Breleigh. She sounded so grown up!
Hope you enjoy my Halloween pics! I love Halloween!!!

This is Helaina after our infamous trip to the local library for a fire safety talk. Watching the kid video was just fine for her. But, watching the video they had for the adults (keep in mind it was a family event) really sent her over the edge. It has been a very traumatic experience for her. Two weeks later and she is still VERY afraid there is going to be a fire in our house. Everyday gets a little better but she still worries. It is times like these that make parenting very hard!
Donuts with Daddy! Breleigh went on her first trip to Casey's to get a morning donut!
Helaina wasn't too sure it was a good idea for Breleigh to go for a donut this morning since it meant that they would have to take the van instead of the trailblazer. (her booster seat is in the trailblazer)
This is Breleigh sitting in the fire truck during a fire safety lesson at our local library! She loved the truck and sat pretty nicely for the speech. It is good to be only 1 and slightly oblivious.
My dad cousin, who lives in a VA home in Marshal Town, made this sweet little bag for Helaina. We really only see him once a year at the family reunion but he was kind enough to remember Helaina and create this little treasure. She likes it! He said that no bag should be given empty so it had a dollar bill tucked inside. We told her now she had money to buy something and she promptly took it and put it in her piggy bank. Too bad that mentality won't last! hehehehe
Goofing around outside on the tree that we had cut down. It cost A LOT more to have them cart the wood away so it continues to lie where it fell!
This is Jim after an awards thingy for weight watchers. It was at a movie theater and they had to dress up and each person got beads, and sunglasses. His picture that he had taken at the event also included a feather boa. Who is this guy?

Helaina was pretending that Breleigh was her baby and she was dressing her up! A rare moment where the two of them are actually playing together!

Anyone looking for a couple of cutie pies? I could have them boxed in no time for you! However, shipping costs would kill you!
